Our Staff

Collectively our four tax preparers have over 145 years of tax preparation experience:

Our Director, James W Rickard has over 50 years of experience,

and his son, James M (Jim Jr), has 32 years of experience.

Kathy has prepared returns for 38 years.

Nancy has prepared returns for 27 years.

Each of our tax preparers is registered with the IRS and the state of California.  You will find their names included on the IRS Federal Tax Return Preparer website and California’s CTEC list of registered tax preparers.

James M has a Bachelor’s in Accounting from The Master’s College, and an MBA from California Lutheran University.  While in college he interned for Douglas-Hammonds Accountancy Corporation.  Shortly after graduating he passed the CPA exam.  He is the Head Coach for the Men’s Soccer team at The Master’s College.  Jim works full-time at Stewardship Services Foundation during tax season, and the rest of the year he splits his time between the foundation and soccer.  His wife, Jolene, also helps with the preparation of returns during tax season. They have two married children, one son at college, and five grandchildren.

Kathy has a Bachelor’s in Accounting from Cedarville University in Cedarville, Ohio.  She worked as an accountant with Coca-Cola for several years while her husband attended Northwest Baptist Seminary.  Her husband, Pete, has been in the ministry for over 35 years and just recently retired from full-time ministry.  Kathy works full-time for Stewardship Services Foundation during tax season. She and her husband have two grown children and three grandchildren.

Nancy attended Faith Baptist Bible College in Ankeny, Iowa.  She worked for several years as an accountant at hospitals in the Chicago area.  Nancy wrote, and updates, the computer program we use to prepare returns.  She works for the Foundation year-round, and if you call during the summer, she will probably be the one answering your questions.  Her husband, Lee, works for ACSI and is in charge of accreditation in the Western U.S.  They have 7 grown children and 12 grandchildren.  Nancy and Kathy are sisters.

and our Office Staff:

Lee works full-time during tax season and part-time the rest of the year.  She helps prepare returns and works with Nancy to update our computer program each year.  Her husband, Michael, is an IT professional and has been in the industry over 30 years.  They have one married son and two grandchildren.

Joan is the wife of our Director, Jim Rickard.  She works in the office full-time during tax season.  Joan functions as Jim’s personal secretary and travels with him most of the time.  Jim and Joan have two grown children, 8 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

Jolene is the wife of James M. Rickard.  She works full-time during tax season as a checker and helps prepare returns.  Jolene has been working for us for 20 years.  She graduated from Westmont College with a degree in Kinesiology.

Diana works full-time during tax season.  She works directly with Joan and is a huge help to her. Diana and her late husband, Lyle, have three grown children, 7 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Vicki works full-time during tax season.  If you call during tax season you will most likely hear Vicki’s voice as she answers our phone lines.  Vicki also is a tax return checker.  She and her husband, Don, two grown children, and one grandchild.

Kristen works full-time during tax season, and part-time during the rest of the year. She helps prepare the California tax returns. Kristen and her husband, Guy, have one married daughter, a son working in Washington, a daughter working in Southern California, and a beautiful granddaughter.

Cherylyn works full-time during tax season as a tax checker.  She graduated from The Master’s College when it was still LABC.  Her husband, Dave, is the pastor of a large church here in our valley.  Cherylyn and her husband have three grown children and three grandchildren.

Helen works part-time in the office during tax season. She is a graduate of the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing. She has worked as a cardiac care nurse, and as an Administrative Assistant for the CFO at The Master’s University. Her husband, Will, is a Professor of Bible and Greek at TMU. They have three children, one who is with the Lord, and four delightful grandchildren.

Anna works part-time during tax season as a tax checker. She and her husband, Alan, served as missionaries for 13 years until returning to Southern California to join the staff at a local church. When she isn’t enjoying a warm cup of coffee you will find her homeschooling her two amazing children.

During tax season we have additional part-time support staff.
